Biography:
Helen M. "Hoofie" Carbaugh, 79, of Hanover, died Tuesday evening, Oct 16, at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the widow of Charles C. Carbaugh who died July 22, 2012. Born Jan 16, 1933 in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Mary (Good) Bridendolph. Helen was a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg High School. She had worked for Doubleday of Hanover and retired from Pillowtex of Hanover in 1995 after 28 years of service. Helen was a member of Christ U.C.C., Littlestown and the Bible Study.
Surviving are three daughters: Sue E. Laughman & husband, Anthony; Kathy L. Watson & husband, David, all of Hanover and Marcie J. Carbaugh of York; a son, Curvin C. Carbaugh & spouse, Dr. Scott Weaver of Portland, OR; four Grandchildren: Greg W. Watson, Kelli A. Wallet, Brian J. & Kevin T. Laughman; two great grandsons: Cullen Watson and Alex Wallet; a brother, John Bridendolph of Bowie, MD and a sister, Janet Abel of York. Helen was predeceased by a brother, Charles Bridendolph.
Funeral Service is Monday Oct 22 at 11 AM at Christ U.C.C., Littlestown with The Rev. Craig E. Arentz officiating. Viewing is 1 hour prior, 10-11 AM at the Church. Interment is in Christ Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions have been asked to go to Meals on Wheels, C/O McSherrystown Senior Center, 201 S. 3'rd St., McSherrystown PA 17344 or Christ UCC, 131 Christ Church Rd, Littlestown PA 17340.
