Biography: The Rev. Lawrence G. "Larry" Douthwaite, 75, of Littlestown, died Saturday, March 2, 2024 at The John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. (He was also known as "The Hat Man".)  He was the husband of Sharon M. (Rutland) Douthwaite for 49 years.  Born May 10, 1948 in Aston, Pastor Douthwaite was the son of the late John & Edna (Pyle) Douthwaite.  He was a 1966 Sun Valley High School graduate; was an Upsala College, East Orange, NJ, grad and received his theology degree at Gettysburg Seminary.  His first church he served was St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lebanon, for seven years. His second church was St. John's Lutheran Church, Littlestown, which he served for 10 years.  Pastor then left the Lutheran Synod organization in 1995 and formed Living Faith Church in Littlestown.  Living  Faith later joined the Keystone Baptist Association.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Aaron Douthwaite & Kim of Rapid City, SD; Diana Myers & Andy of Westminster; and Brett Douthwaite & Alyssa of Lutz, FL; his 6 grandchildren:  Molly Douthwaite, Kyera Bickett, Devin Harr, Warren Myers, James Myers  and Ariah Myers; his sisters, Kathy Wegrzyn, Debbie Wentworth, Jenny Furgerson and Janice Turner and his brothers, John Douthwaite, Jr.  and Fred Douthwaite.  Pastor Douthwaite was a member of Living Faith Church, Littlestown.  He loved God, preaching The Word, teaching, helping others, talking forever, Fox News and Little Debbies.  Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Memorial Service is Saturday, March 9, at 11 A.M. at his church with The Rev. Gary Buchman officiating.  The family will receive guests Saturday 9 - 11 A.M. at church.  Memorials in Pastor's name may be sent to his church @ 1490 Frederick Pike, Littlestown PA 17340.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

A man who loved God with every fiber of his being. I will never forget everything you have taught me and will carry it with me the rest of my life. I look forward to seeing you again with the Lord. I love you Pastor. Well Done Good and Faithful Servant.

I always enjoyed seeing the many "hats" he wore while a crossing guard. Very nice man. My sincere sympathies.
