Born June 20, 1929 in Hanover, Betty was the daughter of the late Clarence & Regina (Eckenrode) Arter. She is survived by 5 children: Dawn Tauscher, Lisa Dickensheets & husband, Dale, Michelle Smith & husband, Tim, Eric Hood & wife, Star and Brent Hood & wife,Vicki, all of Hanover; 8 grandchildren: Jesse, Erin, Shane, Nathaniel, Kaybrea, Austin, Zachary and Logan; 4 great grandchildren: Zachary & Bradley Dickensheets, Jackson Hood and Addison Amoss. Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Robin L. Hood, her infant sister Regina Arter and her brother, C. Joseph Arter

He also worked on the Eisenhower Farms. He was retired from Shindler Elevator in 1997 after 18 yrs. He continued working part time as courier for Wintrode Chevy Buick, Renn Kirby and Bar Ray. He also served as constable for Mt. Joy Twp.
