Biography: Genevieve M. Garrett, 91, of Gettysburg, died Thursday, Aug 5, 2021 at her home.  Born Aug 6, 1929 in Clear Spring, MD, Genevieve was the daughter of the late James Ernest & Lillie F. (Keefer) Hyde.  She was a High School graduate and was retired from Littonian Shoe of Littlestown since 1991.

Surviving are her son, James "Jim" Long of York; her daughters:  Kelly Long of Hanover, Stacey Ridinger & Jeff Edwards of Gettysburg with whom she resided, Karen Burns of Littlestown; her 9 grandchlldren, 9 great grandchildren,a great great granddaughter; and her two brothers, Donnie Hyde of Garden Grove, CA and James Hyde of Anaheim, CA.  Genevieve was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Higgins; her grandson, Daryl Long; her sisters:  Jean Johnson, Jane Hyde, Elise Truelove, Mae Reck and Nell Blum and brothers, Bruce Hyde and Bobby Hartzel.  She enjoyed quillting, crocheting, gardening, line dancing and spending time with her family.  Genevieve was known as a great cook.  She also enjoyed traveling to Arizona and California to visit with her sisters and brothers.
