Biography: Douglas J. McAllister, 52, of Littlestown, died Saturday, July 17, at his home. He was the husband of Christine (Hamm) McAllister of New Oxford.  Born July 11, 1969 in Salisbury, MD, Doug was the son of Benjamin & Joan McAllister of Abington, MD and Joyce (Dayton) McAllister of Salisbury.  He was a Stephen Decatur High School graduate of Berlin, MD.  He served in the army as a combat medic.  He had been employed with Carroll County Hospital and then was with the Carroll County Sheriffs Dept and later as a Westminster City policeman.  Doug was also a certified firearms instructor.

Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are his daughters, Karli A. Topper & Nathan of Hanover and Megan Rennewanz; his son Connor J. McAllister of New Oxford; his grandson, Colton A. Topper; his sister, Dana McAllister of Berlin and his two brothers, Benjamin "Troy" McAllister of Amarillo, TX and David McAllister of California.  Doug attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  He was an avid knife and gun collector.  He enjoyed going to Ocean City, MD and spending time with his family.

Memorial Service is Friday, July 23, at 11 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, with Pastor Lynnwood Spangler officiating.  Memorials in Doug's name may be sent to:  Wounded Warrior Projects - 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesh.com

Ben, Joan and family, I am so so sorry for your great loss. I have never met him but I'm sure he was a great guy just like his dad! My prayers go to your family. Tragic Loss.

I am sorry to hear about Doug's passing. Although we have not been in touch in awhile I have thought of you all often. I hope your cherished memories will bring you peace in your time of loss.
