FUNERAL SPEECH (MY PERSPECTIVE)
This is a sad day for all of us, especially the ones who were very close to her. Who am I kidding we were all close to her. She was a mother, wife, family member, sibling, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and a daughter. In my memories she was always trying to give me little trinkets. Stamps, stickers, crafts, note pads, paper, you name it. Every visit I would come home with a bag full of stuff. It's the memories that we can hold on to and cherish.

The AM after mother's passing our 5 year old grand daughter said to me "When do you want to schedule your appointment? Intrigued by her question and willing to hear her out I said "How about now? I sat in a recliner chair. She sat in a wooden chair she pulled up to the end table as if it were her desk. She had a foam cup with water, a small lined tablet, and a pencil she yielded maturely as though she were a counselor. I saw the spirit of my mother speaking to me plainly and confidently through this child telling me it is sad that your mother had to die but you must find gladness in the family you have left to enjoy. Mother was always more likely to express what you needed to hear than what you wanted to hear. She was a child of God, a soldier of Christ, and welcome in heaven and earth. The faith of a child and the order to move on following the example of Christ set before us will forever find us welcome in heaven and earth. Thank-you Chloe for your condolence and thank-you Holy Spirit for restoring hope to our hopeless hearts that we may once again soar above the clouds of fear and despair. Amen!
