Biography:

 Richard L. Hahn, age 76, of Littlestown, Pennsylvania entered God’s eternal care on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Genesis Nursing Home, Gettysburg Center. Richard was born on December 2, 1944 to his parents, the late Carl and Beryl Hahn of Silver Run, Maryland. He was a 1962 graduate of Westminster High School and had previously attended Charles Carroll Elementary for his elementary and middle school years. Richard was the loving and devoted husband of 53 years to Deborah (Schue) Hahn of Littlestown, Pennsylvania. He also served in the Army National Guard of Maryland, Btry A 2D Battalion, 110th Artillery from 1965 to 1971. Richard was a dedicated and hard worker and spent many years doing his passion, which was automotive work. He spent 30 years working at Chrysler Plymouth West as an ASE Certified Automotive Technician and Service Director. He also worked for the State of Maryland as a Supervisor of the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program for 20 years where he retired from in 2014.

In addition to his wife, Deborah, Richard is survived by his daughter and her husband, Megan Hahn Abell and Gary Abell of Hanover, Pennsylvania, his granddaughter, Ivy Abell, his grandson, Matthew Meckley of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, son-in-law, Scott Meckley of East Berlin, niece, Debbie Hahn of Silver Run, Maryland and his fur baby, Oreo. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gail (Hahn) Meckley of East Berlin, his parents Carl and Beryl Hahn, his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Joan Hahn of Silver Run. Richard will be remembered for his kind, calm and caring nature. He enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren. He was very proud of his grandson, Matt Meckley who is now serving in the Army National Guard stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He also loved when his granddaughter, Ivy would read to him. He was an avid animal lover and would always be willing to bring them a snack. He was fond of southern gospel music and outdoor activities.

Funeral service will be held to honor his life on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Little's Funeral Home located at 34 Maple Ave, Littlestown, PA 17340 with Rev. Sam Chamelin officiating. There will be no viewing, however family will receive friends and family from 9:30am to 10:30am at the funeral home. We ask that COVID 19 restrictions such as masks and social distancing be followed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society or Forever Love Rescue in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.
