Biography: Dennis R. Austin, 82, of Littlestown, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at UPMC Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Linda (Bard) Austin for 62 years. Born Nov 30, 1938 in Hagerstown, Denny was the son of the late Leon & Rachel (Harbaugh) Austin. He was a Chambersburg High School graduate and was employed with A & P of Gettysburg for 27 years, being store manager for the last 15 years. He then retired from Utz Quality Foods of Hanover as a route salesman after 10 years of employment.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda, are his sons, Brett Austin and Mark Austin & wife, Cindy, all of Littlestown; his daughter, Jennifer McComas of Cockeysville, MD; his 6 grandchildren: Joshua, Summer, Luke and Jessica Austin, Ryleigh and Avery McComas and step granddaughter, Brittany DuPhily; his 4 great grandchildren: Aubree, Nora, Evelyn & Alice Austin; his brother, Gary Austin of Winchester, VA and his sister, Joyce Crider of Landisburg. Denny was predeceased by his daughters-in-law, Sherri Austin and Amanda Austin and his grandson, Matthew Austin. He was a 25 yr. member of Bethel Assembly of God and a member of Alpha Fire Co., both of Littlestown.
Memorial Service is Monday, April 19, at 11 A.M. at his church with The Rev. Richard Ritenour officiating. There will be no VIewing. Memorials in Denny's name may be made to his church, 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA 17340 or Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
