I was shocked to read this. I rarely go on FB and can't believe we have lost such a great person. Ive know Joe since 1990 while working on the east coast moving big trees and Joe helped us move some smaller ones when he was at Ace Tree. I spoke to him as recently as last Fall. I always wished we had worked together at EDI. Our condolences to Joes friends, family! David

I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. As a landscape designer, I always appreciated his love for and knowledge of trees. What a wonderful tribute to his life, written by Rhonda Roemmelt Sneider of Ruppert Nurseries, which is how I found out about Joe's death. My condolences to you, his beloved family.

Stacey and Lilly, my deepest condolences to you and the family. To balance the sadness of Joe's passing with the sweet memories of fun times, his smooth swing, his willingness to squeeze a metaphor for the dryer line, his solid build and character, is a matter of laughter and tears. Most of all, it's nice to remember him as a good friend. Pretty sure they let him play through.

The whole Proskine family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. So glad we got to visit with Joe at our last Proskine family reunion.
We still chuckle when we think of the time he and his brothers drank the left over champagne from our wedding. The boys didn't feel to good after that. Joe was only 11 at the time. Memories are what we keep in our heart. Yours will bring smiles each time you think of Joe. In deepest sympathy, Tom, Kathy and family.

So saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. We were good friends in high school but lost touch until reconnecting on FB several years back. I remember our times together 40+ years ago because he was a great kid and obviously turned out to be a great man, husband, father and granddad. In my most recent posts with my new grand daughter, Joe chimed in on the pic, just like him to do. May God bless you blood brother and bless your family with strength to get through this time of grieving.

We are very sad to hear of Joe's passing. Our deepest condolences go out to his family & friends. Joe & Lily began volunteering with DEFHR several years ago. He often gave his time to help us with maintenance projects and would stop by occasionally to check in with us for any needs. Joe was always willing to help and always with a smile on his face. May his wonderful memories be a blessing & bring you peace.

Stacy, hardly a moment has gone by in the past few days that I have found my thoughts turning to you and your family. If you know nothing else about the man, the myth, the legend you would know how much he loved his family. His pride in his children and grandchildren was obvious. He always had a big smile anytime he had the opportunity to talk about them. We will miss him terribly but his legend will live on for a long time to come.

We were so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. He had such a great way of connecting with people and never shied away from sharing a great story or pitching in to lend a hand--whether answering a question from a customer, drumming up silent auction items for PGMS, or stopping to help a co-worker with a task. We were so very lucky to have had Joe as part of our extended family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all...
