Biography:
Eugene A. Schafferman, 84, formerly of Littlestown, died Tues A.M., Sept 18, at Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville. He was the widower of Gloria (Blottenburger) Schafferman. Born March 16, 1928 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George & Emma (Vance) Schafferman. He was a self-employed decorator and custom home painter.
Gene is survived by seven daughters: Donna Shore, Jeannie Ziegenhein, Gloria McCoy & husband, Greg, Janet List, Connie Schafferman, Linda List, Gloria Gene Riser; two sons: James Shore & wife, Tina; Robert Schafferman; brother Dave "Bubba" Schafferman; sister Delores Rose and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Gene was predeceased by daughter Sharon Ridge, Sons-in-law: Robert Shore and John Ziegenhein, brother Ray Schafferman and sister Audrey Rose. He loved to dance and was known as "Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine" and enjoyed horse racing.
Funeral Service Saturday, Sept 22, 11 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with Pastor Ken Reed of Mountain Top Ministries, Orrtanna, officiating. Viewing is Friday 5 - 9 P.M. and Saturday 10 - 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown. Pallbearers will be: Robert, Rick and James Shore, Robert Stevenson, Albert Cooper and Scott Rose. Honorary Palllbearers will be Mark, Steven and Mike Rose. Online condolences may be shared

I miss you so much Poppy. Today marks a year since you were called home and it still hurts. I know you are home now and at peace and for that I am grateful. I try not to be selfish but I miss you so much. I always think about our memories and will forever hold them in my heart. You were a huge part of my life Poppy and always will be. Watch all your grand babies grow up

Uncle Gene. I will always remember you by your great sense of humor, and ability to always make me smile with the most random of quotes, and sayings. I hope that you are happy in heaven and are making Jesus smile and laugh even harder then I had with your funny quotes and awesome sense of humor. R.I.P. I will love and miss you, but we will all be together soon, so this isn't goodbye, merely see ya later. :)

Poppy today was a hard day laying you to rest. I still feel so numb that you aren't physically here anymore. But it gives me comfort knowing you are at peace. No more pain or sadness. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I will cherish every memory I had with you. I love you with all of my heart. We all will be together again one day. You will always be remembered.

Dad....so many memories....you were a wonderful Dad...and an even better GRANDFATHER...Our children loved their "Poppy". We enjoyed every Thanksgiving with you...You will be missed but NEVER forgotten. I love you Dad.

To the man that I met as Poppy Painter many years ago. You will be greatly missed by many. I am so happy that I got to meet you and know you. My kids loved you and so did I. Heart of gold. We will miss you Poppy. I will hold all of our memories together in my heart. I am happy you were able to meet two of my sons and they got a chance to see their great grandfather. You were a great Poppy to all of us and you will be missed. Heaven will be getting a wonderful person who is destined to be a excellecent angel. Because you were already a guardian angel to all of us on earth. God only takes the best and he knew you were one of them. So Goodbye to a great man who was loved by so many.Oneday we will all meet again when the gates reopen for us.
