Biography:

George W. Clingan, 84, formerly of Harney, MD, died early Friday A.M., Aug 31, at Transitions Healthcare of Gettysburg. He was the widower of Charlotte L. (Rinehart) Clingan who died June 11, 2008. Born August 19, 1928 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Walter & Delta Vivian (Ridinger) Clingan. He was employed with Carroll Shoe and Windsor Shoe, both of Littlestown and was retired from Littlestown Hardware & Foundry in 1992.
 
George is survived by a son, Steven W. Clingan & wife, Amy, of Bonneauville; a daughter, Jane L. Clingan of Westminster; two grandchildren: Steven Clingan, Jr. and Jillian Brady; two step-grandchildren: Melissa & Mark Topper; a great grandson, Dante Bartram and two sisters: Irene Brent of Gettysburg and Judy Hayes of Florida. George was predeceased by a brother, Ricky W. Clingan. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Harney; a charter & life member of both Harney Fire Co. and Adams & Carroll County Fire Police; past chaplain of Harney Fire Co. and the fire police and a member of Gettysburg Moose.
 
Funeral Service Tuesday, Sept 4, at 10 A.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with his pastor, The Rev. Matthew A. Day officiating. Viewing is Monday 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time Tuesday. Interment is in Mountain View Cemetery, Harney. Pallbearers will be: Donald Yingling, Raymond Warner, Richard & Ronald Ridinger, Donald Koontz and Larry Bowers. Memorials in George's name may be made to: his church @ 5918 Conover Rd., Taneytown, MD 21787 OR Harney Volunteer Fire Co., 5139 Harney Rd., Taneytown.

So sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a good man that will be missed by many! My thoughts and prayers to the Clingan family.
