Biography:
Doris L. Plunkert, 91, formerly of Littlestown, died late Friday night, Aug 10, at the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law in Hanover. She was the widow of Herbert Plunkert who died Oct 24, 1983. Born April 7, 1927 in Littlestown, Doris was the daughter of the late Mervin & Edith (Reaver) LeGore. She was a Littlestown High School graduate and attended business school. Doris was a homemaker and had been a dental assistant for Dr. Richard Phreaner, formerly of Littlestown.
Surviving are her sons: Bruce H. Plunkert & Donna of Littlestown; Drew E. Plunkert & Carol Rist of Spring Grove; her daughter Jan P. Sweigart & Mark of Hanover; her 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her 2 step great granddaughters; a step great, great grandson and her sister-in-law, Treva Shank of Gettysburg. Doris was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed volunteering, playing cards and cooking.
Funeral Service is Thursday, Aug 16, at 11 A.M. at her church with The Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. Viewing is one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church . Interment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown. Memorials in Doris’ name may be sent to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – 53 W. King St., Littlestown, PA 17340 or VNA Hospice – 40 N. So sorry to hear of Mom P's passing. She was part of so many gatherings over so many years, and I will miss her.
