Biography:

C. Robert “Bob” Bowers, 89, of Littlestown, died Monday, Feb 26, at Genesis Gettysburg Center.  He was the husband of Mary Lou (Strickhouser) Bowers for 65 years.  Born Sept 3, 1928 in Littlestown, Bob was the son of the late Charles H. & Ruth J. (Hartlaub) Bowers.  He was a 1946 Littlestown High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  Bob was retired from Littlestown Hardware & Foundry, Littlestown in 1991 after 38 yrs of service.
 
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Robert C. Bowers & Deborah of Littlestown; his daughter Linda Earling & Richard of Hanover; his 4 grandchildren:  Crysti Cromer & Shaun, Carly Stachyra & John, Joey Campbell & Seth, Cigi Bowers & Nick;  his 8 great grandchildren:  Taylor and Ty Cromer, Dana and Noah Stachyra, Mason and Miler Campbell and Camryn and Brady Bowers.  Bob was predeceased by his sister, Ruthanna Bowers Starner and his infant brother, George Bowers.  He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown and attended Living Faith Evangelical Church, Littlestown. He was a life member of American Legion Post 0321, F.O.E, and V.F.W. Post 6954 where he served as military service honor guard, all of  Littlestown and Westminster Moose Lodge 1381.
 
Funeral Service is Friday, March 2, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Larry Douthwaite officiating.  Viewing is Thursday 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown with full military honors conducted by Littlestown Allied Veterans Council.  Memorials in Bob’s name may be sent to Living Faith Church – 1490 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA  17340 or St. John’s Lutheran Church – 665 St. Johns Rd., Littlestown.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

Mary Lou, So sorry to see this. Too many of our good friends are passing these days. Very sad but as we age this is to be expected. God Bless.

My sincere sympathy to your family; my dad worked with Bob at the foundry for many years and my mom was very fond of both Bob and Mary Lou. May your memories bring comfort to you in the days ahead.
