Biography:
Thomas D. Crum, Jr., 80, of Littlestown, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Genesis Gettysburg Center. He was the husband of Maureen (Roberts) Crum of Littlestown for 61 years. Born April 29, 1937 in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Thomas, Sr. & Ruth (Wilcox) Crum. Tom was a 1955 Lewisburg High School graduate and a 1962 Penn State graduate - Altoona Campus – with an Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering. He served in the U.S. Air Force from ‘56-‘60. Tom was an Electronic Engineer for the U.S. government Dept of Defense retiring December 1992 after 30 yrs of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his 2 children: Daniel Thomas Crum, Sr. & Sharon of Glen Burnie, MD; Susan Juanita Enriquez & Jose Luis of Three Springs; his 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; his brother Richard Crum of Mt. Union and his 2 sisters: Elaine Fyan of Vineland, NJ and Charlotte Samples-Nagle of PA. Tom was predeceased by his 2 brothers: Ronald & Conrad Crum. He was a 32nd degree Shriner’s Mason Solomon #822. Tom was former president and member of Littlestown Chamber of Commerce; a Good Ole Days organizer of Littlestown and a Boy Scout leader for many years.
Funeral Service is Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. George Heberling officiating. Viewing is Wednesday at the funeral home 10-11 A.M. Interment is in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Memorials in Tom’s name may be sent to Forever Love Rescue, P.O. Box 3336, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com

So sorry for your lose, Maureen. I remember Tom always talking about The Boy scouts with Bob. He always had some good stories to tell. Bless you and your family. Hope someday we can get together for lunch. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I first met Tom and Maureen in 1957 when we were assigned to the same USAF Security Service unit, the 6912th Radio Squadron Mobile in Bingen am Rhein, Germany. They were great people and my wife Kathryn and I became good friends with them for a lot of years. Tom was a good airman and at the time was a Radio Traffic Analyst like me, but not so interested in toeing the AF mark. During a monthly Charlie Trick inspection, Tom was told to loose some weight because his dress blues uniform was getting a little tight. The next month he was praised by our inspection Captain for looking much smarter, but of course Tom couldn't let it go. He told the Captain he hadn't lost any weight; just bought a new uniform. As the Captain passed behind the rank he was in, he gave Tom a gig for supposedly having heels on his shoes that were slightly run down. Tom in the 60s also made a great Santa Claus and my six children were thrilled to be visited by the great bearded one late one evening just before Christmas. Tom Crum, my friend and a character with great humanity.

So sorry for the loss of Tommy. He was one of the last of the older part of the clan. I will always remember my "But I Ives". He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
