Biography:

Albert M. Starner, 95, of Littlestown, died Sunday, Oct 22, at his home.  He was the husband of Willie Catherine (Crabill) Starner.  Born May 14, 1922 in Hanover, Albert was the son of the late Harry A. & Roseanna (Kohler) Starner.  He was a 1941 Eichelberger High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.  Albert was a former employee of R.H. Sheppard Co, Hanover and was retired from SKF Industries.
 
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his step children:  David L. Deatrick & wife, Susan, of Lampeter;  Leon C. Deatrick & wife, Sharon, of Orrtanna;  Jo Ann Reynolds & fiance, John Loving, of Fredericksburg, VA;  his 6 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; his sister Mary Louise Irving of Manchester, MD; his brother John Starner of York and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Anna (Bowers) Starner; his brother Harry E. Starner and his sister Geraldine Millheims.  Albert was a member of New Hope Faith Community Church, Hanover.  He served on the choir and Men’s Brotherhood while at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown.  He was also a member of Young at Hearts and Men’s Choirs, both of Littlestown;  a member of Patmos Lodge 348; past president of Central PA Scottish Rite; Life member of Littlestown Fish & Game, Hanover American Legion and served several years as captain of Stites Hunting Club.  He was a life member of the NRA.  Albert was a gunsmith in Littlestown and made his own left handed bolt action gun.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
 
Funeral Service is Wed, Oct 25, at 11 A.M. at his church with Pastor Jeff Reaver officiating.  Viewing is Tues 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown.  Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Albert’s name may be sent to New Hope Faith Community Church, 33 Sunday Dr., Hanover, PA 17331 or SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care Hospice – 260 W. When all we have are memories, I'll remember the fun times at the King Field Parties, seeing him and Ruth Anna at the St. John's Church functions and seeing him on his porch on West King Street when I went by. He was such an easy going man. He will be missed.
