Biography:
Jay E. Weaver Sr., 78 of East Berlin died Friday September 1st at his home. He was the husband of the late Helen Rogers Stratton Weaver. Born June 16, 1939 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Roscoe J. and Rose V. Reaver Weaver. Jay was a 1957 William Penn Senior High School graduate and received an associate's degree in Business Administration from Penn State in 1974. He served in the Unites States Navy from 1958 to 1962 and the Navy Reserve from 1962 to 1964. Jay was assigned to the USS Forrestal (CVA-59). Jay was an electrical foreman at P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove.
Jay is survived by his daughters, Michelle J. Tonkin of Harrisburg and Susan M.T. Stratton of Stuart, FL. His sons, Jay E. Weaver II of East Berlin and Christian J. Weaver of Pittsburgh. Grandchildren Evan, Molly and Sierra Tonkin and Aubrey and Finley Adams. Sisters Laurie Dennis of Lewes, DE and Carroll-Ann Banks of Huntington, PA. He was predeceased by his brother Kirk Weaver.
Jay attended West Shore Church of the Brethren in Enola. He a member of Patmos Lodge 348 of Hanover and was a 32° Mason. He was a member of Hanover Amvets Post 22, Elks Lodge 763, Hanover Home Association, Hanover V.F.W Post 2506, Dillsburg V.F.W. Post 6771, Hanover F.O.E., Hanover American Legion Post 14, McSherrystown Moose, Dillsburg American Legion and a member of the Republican Party since 1977.
Jay loved yard sales, playing billiards, driving his convertibles, wine tasting and being with family.
There will be a Memorial Service Wednesday September 6 at 10 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with Pastor Ed Robbins officiating. There will be no viewing. Inurnment is in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown. Memorial Contributions have been asked to go to West Shore Church of the Brethren, 6921 Wertzville Rd., Enola, PA 17025. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Littlestown Allied Veterans Council. Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

Jay was my boss and my friend at the mill. He did so much for our shop and the mill. We didn't realize it until after he retired.He personally helped me in so many ways. He made me a better electrician and a better person. My wife and I send our sincere condolences to your family.
