Biography: Atlee Ferner Rebert, 96, formerly of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, July 29, 2017, at his residence at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, Pennsylvania.  He was the husband of Suzanne E. (Price) Rebert of Homewood for 72 years.  Born on June 28, 1921, on the family farm outside Littlestown, Atlee was the son of the late Quintin D. and Cora (Ferner) Rebert. 
He was a 1938 graduate of Gettysburg High School and a 1942 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry.  He met his wife, Suzanne, a fellow student at Penn State, in March, 1942.  Their three sons are also Penn State graduates.  After graduation from Penn State and enlisting in the United States Navy, Atlee was transferred to Columbia University in New York City for Officers Training School and was commissioned a Lieutenant JG in the Navy.  He was married, while on leave, on August 4, 1945, after being overseas for 18 months and two days before the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.  Atlee was honorably discharged in November, 1945.  After his discharge, Atlee was employed as a Soil Conservation Specialist and lived in Lancaster, Jim Thorpe (Mauch Chunk) and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.  After returning to Littlestown in 1953, he had worked with his father selling dairy farm equipment, silos and metal buildings until his retirement.  Atlee was also an Adams County Commissioner from 1964 to 1968.
Surviving in addition to his wife are their three sons:  Jeffrey P. Rebert of Denver, Pennsylvania; Christopher L. Rebert of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, Scott D. Rebert and his wife, Elinor, of Hanover, Pennsylvania and his granddaughter, Rachel E. Berry and her husband Syree of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings: Vida Codori of Gettysburg, Hugh Q. Rebert of York and C. Brainard Rebert of California.  Atlee was a member of Redeemer’s United Church of Christ, Littlestown where he taught Sunday School, had many years of perfect attendance and was proud to be a Christian.  Atlee was also a member of the Littlestown Lions Club, Adams County Democratic Committee, Littlestown American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and had served on the Littlestown Industrial Development Authority.
The Memorial Service is Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1PM at the Homewood at Plum Creek Chapel with the Reverend Joel Hummel and Reverend Sterling Fritz officiating.  Private inurnment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown, Pennsylvania.  Donations may be made to Redeemer’s United Church of Christ, 107 East King Street, Littlestown, PA 17340.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.
