Biography:

Annie Neale (Pinkard) Johnson, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. She is preceded in death by Robert G. Johnson, her beloved husband of 64 years. She is survived by three daughters, Patty Cooper (John, deceased) of Poolesville, MD, Cheri Lanier (Mark, deceased) of Tybee Island, GA, and Sue Farran of Westminster, MD, and son Andy Johnson (Carrie) of Poolesville, MD. She was a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Annie was born in Washington, D.C. in 1932 to Asa and Annie Maude Pinkard. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Leah Nowland and Doris Young, and her brothers, Granville Pinkard, Kenneth Pinkard and Ralph Pinkard. After graduating Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA, Annie married Robert Johnson in February 1951 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Southwest Washington, D.C. Soon after, they moved to Rockville, MD, where they raised their family and lived until both Annie and Robert retired. In 1992, they moved to Littlestown, PA.
Annie was a long-time employee of the City of Rockville’s Licenses and Inspections Division and a valued member of the Shrine of St. Jude Catholic Church Sodality. She was a prolific and award-winning quilter, an accomplished cook, and excelled at many arts and crafts. Possessed of a quick wit and lively outlook, she loved music and was an avid reader, moviegoer, and conversationalist. She and Robert enjoyed travelling, attending local concerts and events, and tending their lovely home together.
There will be a Memorial Mass Monday, July 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 South Queen Street, Littlestown, PA, 17340, followed by inurnment in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.littlesfh.com.

My sympathies go out to the family on the loss of their Mom. She was a lovely lady - inside and out. She will be missed.
