Biography:

Dorothy I. Strickhouser, 94, of Taneytown, died Thurs, July 6, at Lookabout Manor, Westminster.  She was the widow of Leroy Strickhouser who died Oct 25, 1974.  Born March 2, 1923 in Carroll County, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Carroll B. & Ruthanna (Ohler) Shoemaker.  She was a 1940 Taneytown High School graduate.  She had been employed with a sewing factory in Littlestown and farmed with her husband and son, Richard.
 
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce I. Ridinger & Bill of Littlestown; her son Richard L. Strickhouser & Diane of Taneytown; her 5 grandchildren:  Karen Leppo, Connie Small, Brian Reaver, Steven Strickhouser, Valerie Snare and her 12 great grandchildren.  Dorothy was a member of Piney Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Taneytown where she faithfully served in various capacities including clerk of the session for many years.  She was also a member of Southern States Co-op Farm Home Advisory Committee.
 
Funeral Service is Monday, July 10, at 11 A.M. at her church with The Rev. Paul Matthews, III officiating.  Viewing is Sunday 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown.  Interment is in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Taneytown.  Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be sent to her church @ P.O.
