Biography: Ivan Lane Cornwell, 57, of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, after battling cancer went to his eternal home on Monday, May 8, 2017. He was the husband of Lisa A. (Claflin) Cornwell for 37 years. Born July 22, 1959 in Ely, MN, he was the son of the late Earl Cornwell and Dorothy (Radley) Cornwell Dutzel, and the stepson of the late Emmanuel "Bud" Dutzle.
Ivan was a pastor with the Assemblies of God and former school administrator for Evangel Heights Christian Academy, Littlestown Christian Adademy, Pittsburgh East Christian Schoool, Calvary Academy and Calvary Temple Christian Academy. He attended Regent Universtiy (Virginia Beach, VA) for his doctoral program, completed his master's degree at Philadelphia Biblical University(Langhorne, PA), his undergrad at Central Bible College (Springfield, MO) and graduated from Horicon High School in WI.
He spend many years educating and disciplining young people. He enjoyed his time being Grandpa and happiest when the family was all together. Surviving are 2 sons: Lucas M. Cornwell & wife, Amanda (Merritt) Cornwell along with grandchildren: Addison, Olivia & Bennett Cornwell and Samuel A. Cornweel & wife, Delia (Hynes) Cornwell along granddaugher, Emelyn; his daughter Alexandria L. (Cornwell ) Ferguson & husband, Amos Ferguson; and 2 siblings; Gail (Dutzle) Arndt and Dean Dutzle. He was predeceased by his father, Earl Cornwell and stepfather, Emmanuel Dutzle.
Viewing is Friday, May 12, between 6:30 - 9 P.M. at Bethel Assembly of God, 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown. Visitation with the family is 10 A.M. before the funeral at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 13, at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.
