Biography:
Janet A. Messinger, 85, of Littlestown, died Tues, May 9, at Hanover Hospital. She was the widow of Wilbert J.H. Messinger who died Jan 20, 2006. Born June 18, 1931 in Hanover, Janet was the daughter of the late Alvin & Myra (Rebert) Gerrick. She was a 1950 Littlestown High School graduate and a lifelong farmer.
Surviving are her 2 sons: Ronald J.A. Messinger and Glenn A. Messinger, both of Littlestown; her 2 daughters: Sandy K. Kuhn & husband, Dan; and Faye Ann Hilker & husband, Randy, all of Hanover; her 4 grandchildren: Derrick & Rachael Kuhn, Brittany Hilker and Jennifer Scobie & husband, Thomas; and her 3 great grandchildren. Janet was predeceased by her 2 sisters: Dorothy Gass and Shirley Richards. She was a member of Christ UCC, Littlestown and PA Dairy Association. Janet enjoyed sewing, gardening and especially spending time with her family.
Funeral Service is Saturday, May 13, at 3 P.M. at Christ UCC with The Rev. Craig E. Arentz officiating. Viewings are Friday, May 12, 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown and Saturday 2-3 P.M. at Christ Church. Interment is in Christ Church Cemetery. I always enjoyed chatting with Janet and Wilbert. So much fun and such a jolly laugh. She'll be missed.
