Biography:
Charlotte Stavely Houston, 89, of Denton, MD, died Friday afternoon, June 15, at Stella Maris Hospice of Timonium, MD. Born Nov 25, 1922 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harry W., Sr, & Elizabeth (Ulrich) Stavely. She was a Hyattsville, MD High School grad and was employed with G.S.O. of Washington, D.C. Charlotte retired in 1992 from N.S.A. of Fort Meade after 30 years of service. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 2 years during WWII.
Charlotte is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands: Ginger Spitzer & Glenn of Eldersburg, MD; Marilyn Simacourbe & George of Denton; 3 grandchildren: Chrissie, Beth & Eric; 3 great grandchildren: Joe, Katie & Trace; 2 brothers: Grant Stavely of Littlestown and Robert Stavely of Hyattsville and a sister, Theresa Dungan of Warsaw, VA. She was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Spitzer and 3 brothers: Harry, Jr., Jack & Bernie Stavely. Charlotte was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church of Hyattsville where she was a Eucharistic minister, Ladies of Charity, The Oblates and a Pope John Paul Society member.
A Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday at 10 A.M. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. Viewing is Monday 6 - 8 P.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with the rosary recited at 8 P.M. Interment is in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. Littlestown Allied Veterans Council will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
