Biography:

Mary C. Messinger, 84, of Littlestown, died Sunday, April 16, at Genesis Gettysburg Center.  She was the wife of Earl A. “Sam” Messinger for 64 years.  Born Dec 23, 1932 in McSherrystown, Mary was the daughter of the late Hayes & Ruth (Clabaugh) Groft.  She was a homemaker and had been employed with Craftlite, Littlestown.
 
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her sons:  Chris A. Messinger & wife, Donna, and Chad A. Messinger & wife, Staci, all of Hanover; her 4 grandchildren:  Brock A. & Joshua A. Messinger and Bradley J. & Brandon M. Harner; and her 2 great grandchildren:  Jenna & Brent Chrismer.  Mary was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia A. Hertz; her brothers:  George, Donald & Michael Groft and her sisters:  Alice Wetzel and Gladys Krug.  She was a member of Christ U.C.C., Littlestown.  Mary was an avid bingo player and enjoyed putting puzzles together and being with her family and grandchildren. 
 
Funeral Service is Wednesday, April 19, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with Pastor Craig Arentz officiating.  Viewing is Wednesday 10 – 11 A.M. at the funeral home.   Interment is in Christ Church Cemetery.  Memorials in Mary’s name may be sent to: Christ UCC, 131 Christ Church Rd., Littlestown, PA  17340  or  Genesis Gettysburg Center – 867 York Rd., Gettysburg, PA  17325 or  SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care & Hospice – 260 W.
