Biography:
John D. Goulden, 89, of New Oxford, died Saturday, March 25, at the Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of Betty L. (Baumgardner) Goulden who died May 12, 2012. Born January 23, 1928 in Fairfield, John was the son of the late John V. & Ethel (Overholtzer) Goulden. He served in the army during the Korean War. He had been employed with Hanover Bronze & Aluminum Foundry and the State of PA and was self-employed in various businesses.
Surviving are his 4 sons: Bernard E. Goulden and Carl D. Goulden, both of Littlestown; James E. Goulden of White Marsh, MD; Robert A. Goulden of East Berlin; his 3 daughters: Wanda S. Spahr of East Berlin; Meleah G. Binder of Palmyra and LaDonna L. Deatrick of New Oxford; his 24 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; his brother, Norbert Goulden of Frederick and his 2 sisters, Mary Eick of Rosedale, MD and Ann Mae Gross of Hanover. John was predeceased by his son, Daniel F. Goulden, his grandson, Zachary Topper, his granddaughter, Sara Beth Goulden, his sister, Dorothy Zink and 2 brothers, James W. “Bill” Goulden and Joseph Goulden.
John was a life member of V.F.W. ; past president of Central PA Corvair Club and an Adams County Fish & Game member. He loved to fish the Gulf, watch boxing and old T.V. shows and being with his family.
Viewing is Wednesday, March 29, 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown. Funeral Service is 8 P.M. Wednesday with Pastor Doug Hahn of St. John’s U.C.C., New Chester, officiating.
