Biography:

Leonard F. Nelson, 86, of Littlestown, died early Saturday, March 18, at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Audrey R. (Bruder) Nelson of Littlestown for 65 years. Born July 8, 1930 in Winchester, NH,  he was the son of the late Gilbert and Bessie (Delaware) Nelson. Len was a graduate of Thayer High School in Winchester, NH and retired from Walter Reed Hospital in 1990 after 26 years of service. Leonard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Old Guard.
 
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Debra Vendemmia and husband Paul of Olney, MD; his 4 sons: Bruce L. Nelson and wife Monica of Fairfax, VA,  Clifford V. “Kip” Nelson and wife Alison of Vienna, VA,  Carl L. Nelson and wife Carol of Raleigh, NC and Tracy F. Nelson of Germantown, MD;  his eight grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Len was predeceased by his brothers: Carroll, Charles, William, Ralph, Donald, Clifford, Linwood and Bernard Nelson and his sisters: Emma Tracy and Clara Nelson. Len was a member of the Littlestown F.O.E. and Westminster Moose. He enjoyed sports, working in the yard and being with his family.
