Biography:
Richard F. Leidy, Sr., 81, of Littlestown, died early Mon A.M., Dec 12, at his home. He was the husband of Frances M. (Harmon) Leidy for 61 years. Born July 14, 1935 in Hanover, Richard was the son of the late Paul & Beulah (LeRendu) Leidy. He was retired in 1992 from C & P Telephone/Verizon after 37 1/2 years of employment. Richard served in the army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his 3 children: Randy S. Leidy & wife, Kim, of McSherrystown; Kathie Messinger of Littlestown and Penny Mohlhenrich & husband, John, of Hanover; his 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. “Dick” was predeceased by his 2 sons: Richard Leidy, Jr. and Russell A. Leidy and his 2 brothers, Ted & Joseph Leidy. He was a member of Paradise Kingdom Hall, Hanover.
Memorial Service is Saturday, Dec 17, at 2 P.M. at his church with Mr. Robert Ruhlman officiating. There will be no viewing. I am so sorry for your loss. So many childhood memories -too many to count! Richard sure will be missed although reuniting with the boys, until we meet again. My thoughts and prayers are with you Frances, Randy, Kathie and Penny!!
