Biography:

Alton M. Munshaur, 85, of Westminster, died Mon, Dec 5, at York Hospital.  He was the widower of Dorothy “Dotty” (Foglesong) Munshaur for 57 years.  Born March 7, 1931 in Libertytown, he was the son of the late Harvey and Gertrude Munshaur.  Alton was a graduate of New Windsor High School.  He served  4 years in the  Navy aboard U.S.S. Liddle APD-60 Destroyer, Amphibian Force, from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict and travelled to Italy, France, Turkey and South Africa.  Alton was employed by Russell Lambert’s Garage in New Windsor from 1948-1951 and later was employed with Black & Decker for over 30 years in various plants and positions.  After retiring from there, he obtained his real estate license and worked with his wife in the real estate business.
 
Surviving is his brother, Kenneth Munshaur of New Windsor and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Alton was predeceased by his sister, Mary Josephine Coady, Nellie Frances Jones and Lucille “Dolly” Dayhoff and his brothers:  Eugene “Bubby” Munshaur and Lawrence Munshaur.  Alton was a member of St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church near New Windsor.  He enjoyed coin collecting, going to auctions and was a numismatic member.  He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, all sports, going to Las Vegas and playing in card clubs.  He liked gardening and his fruit trees. 
 
Family will receive friends Fri, Dec 9, from 2 – 4 and 6 -  8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown.  Funeral Service is Sat., Dec. 10, at 11 A.M. at the funeral  home with Pastor Anne C. Duboraw officiating.  Interment is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run. Contributions have been asked to go to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka Kansas 66675-8516.
