Biography:

Stafford Theodore Keith, aka “HT” or “Keith”, 81, of Taneytown, died early Tues A.M., Dec 6, at Hanover Hospital.  Born April 22, 1935 in Abingdon, VA, he was the son of the late Harlow Theodore & Francis Virginia (Mitchell) Keith.  He served in the army during the Korean Conflict and was retired in 1991 as an Ironworker and farmer. 
 
Surviving are his 3 sons:  Gary M. Keith & wife, Deborah A., of Taneytown; Kenneth E. Keith & wife, Kelly M., of Littlestown; Brian T. Keith & wife, Barbara J., of Hampstead; his daughter, Melissa K. Schmidt & husband, Gary L., of Owings Mills;  his 5 grandchildren:  Matthew, Justin, Hunter & Sydney Keith and Jessica Dunstan; his brother, Raymond R. Keith & wife, Betty, of Floyd, VA; and his sister, Dixie F. Taylor & husband, Bobby, of Chesterfield, VA.  Stafford was predeceased by his brothers:  William & Marvin Keith; his sisters:  Virginia Lee Keith, Elizabeth Caldwell, Louise Rhoten and Mamie Cleo Young; and Avanell “Polly” Keith.   Stafford was a member of: Iron Workers Local Union #16, American Legion Post 120 of Taneytown, Littlestown FOE 2226 & Harney VFW.  He enjoyed farming tobacco, raising cattle, watching westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne, going to church and reading the bible.  He was a hard worker and enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
 
Funeral Service is Fri, Dec 9, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Stan T. Diehl officiating.  Viewing is Thurs from 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment is in Mountain View Cemetery, Harney.  Memorials in Stafford’s name may be sent to:  Alzheimer’s Assoc., 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA  17110 or American Heart Assoc., P.O. Dear Kieth family, very sorry for your loss. "T" was a friend and neighbor that was always there to help others. Our lives were so much better knowing him as a man we respected and loved.
