Biography:
Robert L. Shaeffer, 90, of Littlestown, died early Wed A.M., Nov 16, at Hanover Hall. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Dutterer) Shaeffer of Littlestown for 60 years. Born Nov 8, 1926 in Arendtsville, he was the son of the late Leonard & Lottie (Shaffer) Shaeffer. He was retired from Emeco of Hanover in 1993 after 44 years of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his son, Tony L. Shaeffer of Littlestown; his 2 brothers: Clyde Shaeffer and Samuel Shaeffer, both of Hanover and his sister, Dorothy Alban of Abbottstown. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Grace Eltz and his brother, Harvey Shaeffer. He was a member of Christ U.C.C., Littlestown where he was very involved. Bob loved animals, especially his dog, “Maggie”.
Funeral Service is Saturday, Nov 19, at 11 A.M. at his church with The Rev. Garry Sheaffer officiating. Viewing is 10 – 11 A.M. Saturday at church. Interment is in Christ Church Cemetery.
