Biography:

Robert L. Snyder, 90 of Littlestown, died Thurs, Nov 10, at Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of Regina J. (Lightner) Snyder for 55 years.  Born Dec 12, 1925 in Littlestown, he was the son of the late Elmer R. & Mary Jane (Sponseller) Snyder.  Bob was a 1943 Littlestown High School graduate.  After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943-46 and served in the Pacific Theater aboard the CVL carrier, the USS San Jacinto.  Bob drove truck for Eddie’s Cleaners of Littlestown for many years and was a route supervisor for Utz Potato Chip Co. before retiring in 1988. 
 
In addition to his wife, Regina, Bob is survived by his 3 children:  Peggy L. Urich & husband, Barry, of Enola;  Michael E. Snyder & wife, Pamela, of Littlestown; Michelle E. “Shelly” Farley & husband, K. John, of Avondale; his 8 grandchildren:  William Laughlin, Colette Brown, Brett Urich, Barry Urich, Jr., Allicia Ryder, Zachary Snyder and John Robert & Elijah Farley and 6 great grandchildren:  Bryce Ryder, Abby Brown, Evan, Rebecca, Dallas & Quinten Urich.  Bob was predeceased by his 5 brothers:  Claude, Melvin, Sterling, Earl and Norman Snyder and his 3 sisters:  Edna Jane McGuigan, Helen Keiser and Dorothy Sharrock.    Bob was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown. He was a charter/life member of V.F.W. Post #6954, Littlestown where he served as Post Commander for 3 terms.  He earned the Outstanding District #21 Commander award for the term 1986-87.  Bob also served as State Chief of Staff for State Commander, Donald Mills, in 1995-96.  He was a life member of Alpha Fire Co, BPOE Elks #763 of Hanover, F.O.E. of Littlestown, Amvets Post-PA-0172 and American Legion Post #321.  Bob loved the Orioles and time spent with his family.
 
Funeral service is Tues, Nov 15, at 11 A.M.at Little’s Funeral  Home, Littlestown with the Rev. Richard F. Michael officiating.  Viewing is Monday 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg with full military honors conducted by Littlestown Allied Veterans Council.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name may be sent to Alpha Fire Co, 40 E. King St., Littlestown, PA  17340 or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 53 W. King St., Littlestown.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

My most sincere condolences to "Jeanie" and the children. Spent many nights in your kitchen solving worldly problems. Bob was one of kind and he will be missed. RIP my friend!

Dear Regina,
May you truly be blessed with God's comfort during this very difficult time. Was so sad to read in our York newspaper of your husbands passing. I am praying for you and your family as you journey through this time we call 'grieving'. Just "keep looking up". I know HE cares. Jannie

My sincere condolences to Bob's family and friends. I remember Bob fondly from my (frequent) trips to the VFW when I lived in town (1972-83).
