Biography:
Mildred Louise Boose, 98, formerly of Hanover, died Monday evening, Nov 7, at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, where she was residing. Born Aug 15, 1918 in Silver Run, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Franklin Boose and Stella (Bechtel) Boose Berwager.
Miss Boose was a dedicated active Christian who volunteered her time helping many people such as driving them to church. Her career as a proofreader at Doubleday Book Company of Hanover spanned 24 years. After retiring in 1978, Miss Boose was a practical nurse who assisted many people in their private homes. She also volunteered time and gave donations to the Hanover Area Council of Churches, Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, Hanover Library, Hanover Visiting Nurses Association and Child Evangelism Fellowship of York.
Surviving are five nephews: William Millar of New Oxford; Fred Millar of Santa Anna, CA; James Millar of Hanover; Joel Millar of Mechanicsburg and Tom Sindlinger of York. Miss Boose was predeceased by sisters: Anna Boose Sindlinger and Beulah Boose Millar.
Inurnment is private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run, MD. Memorial Contributions in Mildred’s name may be made to Hanover Nurse Association of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331. Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com
