William S. Unger

Aug 29th, 2016

Biography:

William Stonesifer Unger, 81 of Findlay, Ohio passed away August 28 at Blanchard Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Yvonne.  They shared 61 years together.

Born in Maryland, he was the son of Charles and Helen.  He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; sons, William Wayne and Vincent Lee (Candy); grandchildren, Alexis (Ari) and Drake; and brothers, Robert (Janet) and Donald (Shirley).  He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Charles Junior, Arlene and Jim.

Bill retired with over 52 years of service as a Manufacturing General Superintendent at the R.H. Sheppard Company.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church, served in the National Guard, and was a Union Township Supervisor.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching nature shows on TV, and talking on the phone with family and friends.  He loved spending time with his children and selflessly helping them with whatever they were passionate about.  His grandchildren were the love of his life, and he lit up like a Christmas Tree whenever they visited or called to check in.  Also holding a special place in his heart was Lexie’s Yorkie-Poo, Maddie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Samuel Garrett at Little’s Funeral Home, 34 Maple Avenue, Littlestown, PA.  Final resting place will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.

Donations can be made in Bill’s name to the American Cancer Society in support of Bill’s four-year battle with cancer, as this terrible disease impacts so many of our lives.
