Biography:

Michael G. Cummings, 71, of Westminster, entered into God’s eternal home on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Hanover Hospital.  Born March 20, 1945 in Elmhurst, IL, he was the son of the late Golden Humes & Marian Gray Cummings.   A 1963 graduate of Glenbard West High School, Glen Ellyn, IL, he attended Penn State Mont Alto Campus and Penn State University Park and graduated from Gettysburg College in 1967 with a business degree.  Besides his love for God, family and friends, Mike enjoyed his beloved cats and Polled Hereford cattle.  He was an avid bowler, hunter, toy collector and known for his many interesting stories. 
 
Mike attended Hanover First Church of God, and Church of the Open Door, Westminster.  After college he worked for Random House Book Publishing Co., and since 1980 was President and CEO of Mike Cummings Co., Inc. a wholesale distributor of paint, hardware and paint related sundries in a 150 mile radius of Littlestown.  He was a long time board member of Penn State Mont Alto Constituent Society, Builders Assoc of Adams County and National Assoc of Realtors since 1976. 
 
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Anna L. Krichten Cummings of Westminster; his son, Michael G-H Cummings & wife, Lori, of Littlestown; his daughter, Marian Gray Cummings of Charlotte, NC and his grandson, Matthew C. Conroy of Charlotte, NC; his brother, Douglas G. Cummings & wife, Judy, of Winfield, IL and his niece Elizabeth Durr of Silverado, CA.  Mike was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Cummings Hiznay.
 
Funeral Service is Thurs, July 28, at 11 A.M. at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Dr., with Pastor Jerry  Shoap officiating.  The family with receive friends on Wed, 5 – 8 P.M. at the church.  Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his church or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association online or mailed to:  1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC  28201.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com

My prayers go out to you and your family at this time. I know Mike will always be by your side. I am sure he is smiling at you this very moment. Anna, I was so shocked to hear of Mike's passing, but felt joy in knowing that he is with His Lord and Savior. You and Mike have always been so kind to me and I will always remember Mike in that way. I will pray for you; that you may be at peace and will be surrounded by friends and family during this time.

So sorry Anna! I will always remember all the stories Mike told and smile when I think of them. I'm sure he will find a few ears to keep telling his stories to up there in Heaven. Hoping you find peace knowing he will always be watching over you. Hugs to you!

Dear Anna,

I send my condolences during this difficult time. I remember many times when it was yourself, Mike and myself in the office burning the midnight oil! I enjoyed all of the transactions we had worked on together and the conversations we shared. I wish you and your family brighter days and pray that God holds your heart close.

Anna...praying for you during this sad time. I loved hearing the stories Mike would share with me about his cows and the farm. You could tell his genuine love for his animals. I always told Mike, I never knew how in the world he did all the things he did! Just amazing! Now he is joyful with our savior!!! Hugs, my friend.

Mike was not only family, he was a friend and I will cherish the memories of all the fun we had at our family get-togethers. He will be missed by so many.
