Biography:

Robert D. Gladhill,98, of Littlestown, died Fri, May 6, at The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville.   He was the widower of Margaret L. (Schneider) Gladhill who died Feb 27, 2007.  Born Jan 6, 1918 in Iron Springs, he was the son of the late Roy D. & Mary S. (Study) Gladhill.  Robert was a 1935 Gettysburg High School graduate where he had perfect attendance.  He was a carpenter employed with Donald E. Six Builders of Middleburg, MD retiring in 1985. 
 
Surviving are his 7 sons and 2 daughters:  R. Larry Gladhill & Barbara of Littlestown; Ronald L. Gladhill & partner Minh of East Berlin; C. Michael Gladhill & wife Judy of Littlestown; Dennis W. Gladhill & Victoria of Littlestown; James R. Gladhill & Sonja of Gettysburg; Jean L. Tvrdy & Richard of Ceresco, NE; Donna R. Hertz of Gettysburg; Dwight D. Gladhill & fiance Anita Sipling of Hanover and Scot A. Gladhill & Diane of Hanover;  his 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; and his 3 sisters:  Alice Hartsock of Littlestown; Betty Geiger and Audrey Flynn, both of Hanover.  Robert was predeceased by his 2 brothers:  George & Roy Gladhill and his 2 sisters:  Mary Schneider and Emma Fair.
 
He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and Fish & Game, Assoc., both of Littlestown; Adams County Sportsmans Federation; Littlestown School Board member; a Hunter Safety Instructor; an NRA member and committeeman for Adams County Republican Party.  Robert was an avid hunter and loved trips to Potter County.
 
Funeral Service is Wed, May 11, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with Sister Deb McClellan officiating.  Viewings are Tues 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment is in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.  Memorials in Robert's name may be sent to his church @ 330 White hall Rd., Littlestown, PA  17340.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

Our deepest sympathy on the loss of Robert. May all of you find peace and solace knowing he is with his wife and in a better place. It is hard to be left behind but we all will be reunited again.
