Biography:

Corinne E. (Myers), Miller, McCleaf, age 100 of Gettysburg, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 8, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born Saturday, September 4, 1915 in Mount Joy Township near Two Taverns. Her parents were the late William R. and Roseanna (Harget) Myers. She was the widow of the late Glenn W. McCleaf who died in 1997.

 

Corinne worked in the shoe manufacturing industry for many years and was employed at the Carroll Shoe Company for 18 years. Then she worked seasonally in fruit processing at the C. H. Musselman Company in Biglerville. Later she did housekeeping in several family homes for 20 years in the Gettysburg area.

 

Her interests included country dancing, crocheting, sewing and hemming, gardening and she canned many fruits and vegetables each year. She enjoyed visiting friends and family and travelling with others to see new scenic destinations.

 

Corinne was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Two Taverns where she faithfully served in the Ladies Aid Society and on the Altar Guild for many years. She was an active member of the Adams County Council of Republican Women and the Gettysburg Senior Citizens Club.

 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Preston Myers and Burnell Myers and a sister, Margaret Bailey.

 

Corinne is survived by a son, Gerald E. Miller and wife Joan of Gettysburg, and a grandson, Larry E. Miller and friend, Susan. Also, she is survived by a sister, Evelyn Shildt of Porters Sideling, and two brothers, Glenn Myers of Littlestown and Lee Myers and wife Audrey of Gettysburg in addition to a number of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be handled by Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Avenue, Littlestown. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening, April 12 from 6 - 8 pm and Wednesday morning, April 13 from 10 am to the time of the funeral service at 11 am with Sister Deb McClellan presiding. Internment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
