Biography:
Betty L. Stewart, 87, of Westminster, died early Fri A.M., March 25, at her home. She was the widow of William J.R. “Bill” Stewart who died Nov 24, 2004. Born Aug 13, 1928 in York County, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Katharine (Fleming) Swartz. Betty had been employed with Random House, Inc. of Westminster for over 26 years retiring in 2002.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela J. Bradsher of Westminster; her 3 sons: Gary R. Stewart of Beltsville, William A. Stewart of York and John A. Stewart of Westminster; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her 5 sisters: Nancy Brillhart of Hanover; Doris Stoll of Mt. Holly; Donna Lehigh of Hanover; Janet Starner of Gardners and Mary Witt of Carlisle; her brother, Larry Swartz of Mt. Holly and Stepbrother, Larry Bankert of Carlisle. Betty was predeceased by her 2 sisters: Evelyn Henry and Shirley Swartz and 4 brothers: Henry, Robert, Rodger and Charles Swartz. Betty was a member of St. Mary’s UCC, Silver Run. She loved being with family, camping and the outdoors.
Funeral Service is Tues, March 29, at 12 noon at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Eric Marsteller officiating. Viewing is 11-12 Tues at the funeral home. Interment is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run. Memorials in Betty’s name may be sent to her church @ 1441 E. Mayberry Rd., Westminster, MD 21158.
