Biography: John W. Mitchell, 72 of Littlestown and formerly of MD died Friday Jan. 15 at his home. He was the husband of Dorothy Bush Mitchell of Littlestown, his wife of 50 years. Born July 28, 1943 in Marley Park, MD., he was the son of the late Cyrus W. and Minnie E. Shipley Mitchell. John served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a foreman welder in 1995 after 33 years of service. In addition to his wife, John is survived by daughters Catherine Mitchell, Deborah Mitchell and Amy Mitchell all of MD. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. I am so sorry to hear of your loss and sorry I didn't get up to visit John before he passed. Life seems so short especially when we get older.
I'm sure you find comfort in knowing he suffers no longer and we will all be united one day in a better place. Until then God Bless all of you.
