Biography: Ronald S. Rife, 68, of Hanover, died Tues, June 16, at his home. Born Feb 1, 1947 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Harold W. Rife and June (Spangler) Rife of Littlestown. Ron was a Hanover High School graduate. He served in the army during Vietnam. He was a truck driver for Greens Dairy, Hanover and later retired from the Naval Depot, Mechanicsburg.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his sister, Cynthia E. Rife of Spring Grove and nieces. Ron was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, American Legion and VFW, all of Littlestown and Gettysburg American Legion and VFW. Ron was a "die hard" Yankee fan and loved to play softball, sing karaoke and bowl.
Memorial Service is Wed., June 24, at 7 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Littlestown with Vicar Sean Titus officiating. There will be no viewing; however, the family with receive friends 6 - 7 P.M. Wed at church. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Contributions in Ron's name my be made to his church @ 665 St. Johns Rd., Littlestown, PA 17340. The family suggests everyone remember Ron's demeanor in his earlier years rather than his last few.
