Biography:

Betty Hood Sanders, 85, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, May 18, at Hanover Hospital.  She was the widow of Charles W. Hood and Earl W. Sanders who died March 2014.  Born June 20, 1929 in Hanover, Betty was the daughter of the late Clarence & Regina (Eckenrode) Arter.  She is survived by 5 children:  Dawn Tauscher, Lisa Dickensheets & husband, Dale, Michelle Smith & husband, Tim, Eric Hood & wife, Star and Brent Hood & wife,Vicki, all of Hanover; 8 grandchildren:  Jesse, Erin, Shane, Nathaniel, Kaybrea, Austin, Zachary and Logan; 4 great grandchildren:  Zachary & Bradley Dickensheets, Jackson Hood and Addison Amoss.  Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Robin L. Hood, her infant sister Regina Arter and her brother, C. Joseph Arter.
 
Betty was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown where she served on the Bingo committee. She was a 1947 Delone Catholic High School graduate.  She was a secretary at Windsor Shoe Co. and was also employed with Colonial Shoe, Freeman Shoe, Jack Tar and the Maple Avenue Middle School office in Littlestown.
 
Betty enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a Littlestown resident for most of her life and moved to Hanover for the last few years to a 55+ condominium.  Most recently she was a resident of The Brethren Home, New Oxford.
 
Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, May 22, at 11 A.M. at her church with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant.  Viewing is Thurs 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with the Rosary recited at 8 P.M.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Casket Bearers will be Betty’s grandsons:  Jesse Dickensheets, Shane  & Nathaniel Smith, Austin, Zachary & Logan Hood.  The family suggests memorials in Betty’s name be made to her church @ 29 S. Queen St., Littlestown, PA  17340.  The family  wishes to thank all the those doctors, nurses and care givers who helped their mother in her golden years.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

We prayed many Saturday Nights together and I missed you when you moved from Littlestown. May you rest in peace.
