Biography:
Pearl A. Fissel, 85, of Littlestown, died Sunday, Sept 28, at her home. She was the wife of Fred W. Fissel for 67 years. Born Nov 30, 1928 near White Hall, Union Twp, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. & Ida (Pitzer) Good. She was the Salutatorian for her Littlestown High School class of 1946. Pearl was a farm wife and homemaker and was previously employed with the Hanover Evening Sun for 10 years retiring in 1993.
In addition to her husband, Pearl is survived by 3 daughters: Marian M. Mikesell & husband, The Rev. Daniel of Carlisle; Diane E. Strickhouser & husband, Richard, of Taneytown, MD ; Donna J. Hempfing & husband, Gary, of Hanover; a son, Fred H. Fissel & wife, Lori, of Spring Grove; 13 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; Bessie Keilholtz of Hanover; Doris Sharrer of Keymar, MD and Myrtle Ambrose of Littlestown. Pearl was predeceased by a son, James W. Fissel and his wife, Kimy Fissel; 2 brothers: Melvin & Charles Good and sister, Elva Barnes. Pearl was a member of St. James UCC, Littlestown. She also enjoyed her family, music, bowling and card club.
Funeral Service is Thurs at 11 A.M. at her church on 1200 Harney Rd. with The Rev.’s Scott Aument & Daniel Mikesell officiating. Viewings are Wed 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown and Thurs 10-11 A.M. at church. Interment is in the church cemetery.
