Biography:
Donald F. Tesno, 80, of Littlestown, died Thurs, Sept 4, at his home. He was the husband of Claire M. (Schragen) Tesno. Born Nov 4, 1933 in Smutzhill, he was the son of the late Luther & Estella (Welker) Tesno. Don was a 1951 Ashland High School grad and earned an Associates degree from Rider University. He served three years in the army during the Korean Conflict and was proud to serve President Eisenhower as special army security while in the military. Don was retired in 1999 as an Insurance Claims Mgr for Zurich American Insurance.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Andrea T. Clise & husband, J. Christopher of Westminster, MD; a son, William L. Tesno & wife, Neslihan of Conroe, TX; 4 grandchildren: Trey W. , Katherine A. & Justin T. Tesno and Alexandrea D. Clise; a great grandson, Isaiah W. Tesno and a sister, Joann Miller of Etters. Don was predeceased by 3 brothers: Harold, Bob & Ed Tesno and 5 sisters: Lois, Gertrude, Edith, Helen & Ruth. Don was a member of Bart’s Centenary United Methodist Church, Littlestown; past president of Lions Club of Littlestown; United Methodist Men member, Black Diamond Semi-Pro Football team and American Legion of Harrisburg. He was involved in the Appalachian Service Project for over 15 years.
Funeral Service is Tues, Sept 9, at 11 A.M. at his church with Pastor Emilia Florio officiating. Viewing is Monday 6 – 8 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown. Interment is private with military honors conducted in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don’s name may be sent to his church @ 56 E.
