Biography:
C.M. Leroy Basehoar, 76 of Littlestown passed away Saturday September 13 at the Hanover Hospital. He was married to his high school sweetheart Jacqueline Lawrenz of Littlestown for 56 years, who was always by his side.
Born September 12, 1938 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Millard Leroy and Laura Sentz Basehoar.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Millard Basehoar and wife Deborah, Beverly Boyd and husband Tracy all of Littlestown, Charles Basehoar and wife Robin of Gettysburg, George Basehoar and wife Becca of Tulsa, OK and Walter of Florida. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Leroy was a life member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown. He was a life-long self employed farmer. He was a proud man that quietly loved and enjoyed many things, his family, the land and all the seasons, history and traveling to all 50 states, especially his second home in Princeville, Illinois. He was committed to agriculture and the family heritage being the 8’th generation to own and operate Crystal Spring Farm. He was a progressive farmer that valued and treasured the past.
Funeral service is Thursday September 18’th at 10 A.M. at Little’s funeral Home with his pastor, The Rev. Alex Martini officiating. There will be a viewing Wednesday at the Funeral Home, 2-4 and 6-8. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Memorial Contributions have been asked to go to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
