Biography:

Stanley E. Mummert, 77 of Littlestown died Saturday Aug., 30 at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Anne Karns Mummert of Littlestown for 55 years. Born May 20, 1937 in Yorkana, he was the son of the late Ira C. and May Kemper Mummert. Stan was a 1956 graduate of Littlestown High School and served in the National Guard. He was V.P. and Branch Manager for the Adams County National Bank in Littlestown and retired after 40 years of service.
 
Stan is survived by a son, William C. Mummert and wife Anne of Westminster, Colorado and a daughter, Holly Mummert Udy of Boonsboro, MD. Grandchildren Justin Mummert, Alex Udy, Austin Udy and Amanda Udy. Brothers Gerald Mummert of East Berlin and Larry Mummert of Littlestown. He was predeceased by a sister, Regina Mummert.
 
Stan was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Littlestown where he served on Church Council, sang on the choir and was very involved in church activities. He was past president of the Littlestown Rotary and was a life member of Alpha Fire Co. of Littlestown. Stan loved being with family, especially his 4 grandchildren.
 
Funeral service is Wednesday at 11 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown with Rev. John G. Largen officiating. There will be no viewing, however family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 to 11 at the Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions have been asked to go to the  Karns Hall Fund, 665 St. John’s Rd., Littlestown, PA 17340. Online condolences may be shared at www.littlesfh.com.

Our sincere sympathy to Anne and the family for your loss. Stan was a fun loving guy with a love and concern for others. Our community has also suffered a loss of a great person. Thoughts and prayers with the family. Stan will be missed by all who knew him. What a great Thunderbolt and Red Raider fan. Will always treasure the wood cutting experiences shared with Stan and Bill, always an unexpected adventure.

To Anne, Billy, Holly and families. I send my condolences to you all in the passing of Stan. I considered him as one of my mentors in the bank and served with him as an officer of the bank, church council, and neighbor 2 times. He was a great man with a sense of humor that would make anyone laugh. I am a better person to have known him. RIP Stan....
