Biography:

Dorothy A. King, 71, of Littlestown, died early Tues A.M., July 15, at Hanover Hospital.  She was the widow of Fern A. King who died Aug 17, 1973.  Born March 29, 1943 in Hampstead, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur M. & Anna Mary (Grogg) Rhoten.  She was a 1961 North Carroll High School graduate and was an office clerk for Littlestown borough for 27 years.
 
Dottie is survived by two sons:  John R. King of Hampstead and David A. King & wife, Sabrina, of Jackson, NJ; granddaughter, Amanda P. King and sister, Mary Ruth Fowble of Hampstead.  Dottie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Gettysburg. She enjoyed going to local carnivals and Stables in Westminster to listen to country music.  Dottie also loved time spent with her kitten, “Toochie”.
 
Memorial Service is Saturday at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with her minister, The Rev. John Largen officiating.  There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends 10 –11 A.M. Sat. at the funeral home.  Inurnment is in Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown.  Memorials in Dottie’s name may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3535, Gettysburg, PA  17325   or Adams County SPCA, 11  Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA  17325.  Online condolences on www.littlesfh.com

My family and I had the pleasure of knowing Dottie. We will always hold our memories of her very near to our hearts. She is by far one of the kindest, caring ladies I have ever known. We send our deepest sympathy to her family, friends and all who knew her. The world has definitely suffered the loss of a wonderful person.

Our deepest sympathy at the loss of Dottie. I (Roger)worked with Dottie for 20 years at the Borough Office and considered her a good friend.

I knew Dottie and Fern. I always enjoyed talking to Dottie when I went to the Borough Office. Such a personable person. My condolences to the family.

i'm so sorry for your loss. i'm dottie's cousin we spent many sunday's as a kid playing. i'm certain alot has happened since those days but they are very happy memories. again i'm sorry for your loss.
