I am so sorry for the Stavely Family. I have many great memories of being with them. Going to church on Sundays at St. Jerome's with Bernie and Aggie and all the little ones. Mr. and Mrs. Stavely are great role models. It's hard to believe that Mr. Stavely is gone. Prayers to all.

I would like to add our comments also. As my brother Jim said, it was great growing up with the Stavely family so close by in Hyattsville (seems like everyone at St. Jerome\'s lived \"close by\" ... ah, those were the days!). The gang met up regularly at church, teen club, or Magruder Park. In those days, a \"gang\" was just a pack of kids out playing ball, in the creek (when it was still there), goofing around. When our Dad passed away early this year, it was good to see Louie again after all these years (1969) and hear about his family and what they\'ve been up to.

Our parents are slowly starting to leave us, now ... but their impact, legacy and some fine memories remain.

I met Grant when I started at the Hyattsville Post office in January of 1966. He was always very energetic and a good person to be around. In the early 70'S we both worked the midnight shift at old P.G. facility, Grant was the tour supervisor and I was working across the parking lot at the Postal vehicle maintenance facility he liked to come over especially on warm balmy nights and bring the old pie carts, commonly called for me to weld up. We would talk, I think it was a way for him to relax for a few minutes before returning to the big house. Grant was always a man with high energy who was great to work with, he loved his job and his country and most of all his family. I am proud to have known and worked with him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stavely family during this time of sadness. Each member of our family has very fond memories of visiting the Stavely home near St Jeromes regularly as we grew up in Hyattsville throughout the 50s and 60s. Our hearts go out to Mrs. Stavely in her time of mourning. Peace be with you all. Jim Ilg

My prayers and sympathies are sent for Mr. Stavely\'s family. I did not know Mr. Stavely, but met his daughter, Bernie, on my first day of high school, and she became my first friend there. She was kind, giving, and compassionate then, and I\'m sure even more so now. I am sorry for the loss of your Dad. He must have been a good man and father, and very proud of his kids.
Prayers for you all.

I did not know Grant Stavely, but have sailed with his daughter, Catherine. By any measure he must have been a fine man to have raised her. My condolences to her, her mother and brothers and sisters.
