Biography: Herman E. Grimsley, 72, of Hanover died Mon., April 14, at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Joan L. (Snyder) Grimsley of Hanover. Born August 8, 1941 in Pinetops, NC, he was the son of the late Johnny and Fannie (Ellis) Grimsley. Herman was a 1960 graduate of Littlestown High School and served in the Army National Guard for 10 years. He worked at the Taneytown Grain and Supply, Southern States and retired from the Carroll County Schools in the maintenance dept. and plant operations.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his 2 beloved daughters, Veronica Groft and husband, Cory, of Littlestown and Sabina Hege of Lewisville, NC; Grandchildren: Shanna Groft, Jessica Young, Tanya Smith, Amir Sadri and Zackary Hege; Great Grandchildren: Alexander Groft, Shyenne Young, Nathaniel Wagaman, Lillian Smith and Donovan Smith; 2 Brothers: Raymond Grimsley of Sykesville and Jimmy Grimsley of Gettysburg; 3 sisters: Nolah Bowers and Velma Moore, both of Westminster and Ruth Ann Bartholow of Gamber. He was predeceased by a sister, Sadie Miller.
Herman was very dedicated to his family, work and loved his rose garden.
A Funeral Service is Friday, April 18, at 1 PM at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with Pastor Malcolm B. Workman, Chaplain of Environmentally Safe Products, Inc. officiating. There will be a viewing Thursday, April 17, from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Online condolences at www.littlesfh@comcast.net.
