Biography:
Linda D. Bond, 64, of Gettysburg, died Fri A.M., March 28, at Mt. Joy Hospice & Community Care, of Mt. Joy. Born Jan 20, 1950 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late George & Maude (Halter) Bowen. She was a 1968 Francis Scott Key High School graduate. She was also a Beauty School grad of Westminster. Linda was a Beautician until her children were born, was manager of “the flower shop” in Taneytown and later worked in Northwest Middle School, Taneytown in the cafeteria.
Linda is survived by 2 daughters: Tammy Lawyer & husband, Donald, Jr., of Hanover; Heidy Rubin & husband, Alan of Maroochydore, Queensland Australia; a son, Christopher Bond of Rock Hill, SC; 3 grandchildren: Layla Staten, Adelta Lawyer and Willow Bond. Linda was a member of St. Mary’s U.C.C., Silver Run and a Francis Scott Key Band Booster. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, feeding birds and gardening. According to her family, Linda was the best cook ever!
Visitation is Thursday 6 – 7 P.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with a Memorial Service at 7 P.M. with her daughter, Tammy Lawyer, officiating. Inurnment is private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run. Memorials in Linda’s name may be made to Mt. Joy Hospice & Community Care, 4075 Old Harrisburg Rd., Mt. Joy, PA 17552.
