Biography:
Jane H. Hornberger, 92, formerly of Littlestown, died Sun., Nov 24, at Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg. She was the wife of the late George E. Hornberger who died April 30, 2007. Born Feb 13, 1921 in Littlestown, Jane was the daughter of the late Claude W. & Edna G. (Hartman) Harner. She was a 1938 Littlestown High School graduate and attended Gettysburg College. Jane retired in 1984 as V.P. of Atlantic National Bank, O.C., MD and also worked at Community National Bank, Littlestown.
Jane is survived by 2 daughters: Jean M. Miller of State College; Janis L. Daron of Carlisle; 2 sons: Richard L. Hornberger of Middletown and Steven E. Hornberger of Athens, AL; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Jane was predeceased by a daughter, Julie M. McKinsey; sister Mildred Stagemyer and brother James Harner.
Jane was member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fayetteville, Order of the Easter Star and Chi Omega Sorority.
Memorial Service is Fri., Dec 13, at 11 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with The Rev. Alex Martini of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Littlestown, officiating. There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends 10 – 11 A.M. Fri. at the funeral home. Inurnment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jane’s name may be made to: Celtic Healthcare, 220 Wilson St., Suite 100, Carlisle, PA 17013 or County Meadows, 4837 E. Trindle Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
