Biography:
Ruth G. Reichart, 100, of Littlestown died Mon., Oct 7, at her home. She was the widow of Ray V. Reichart who died May 7, 1969. Born March 26, 1913 in Littlestown, she was the daughter of the late David J. & Mary (Stair) Bair. She had worked in local sewing factories and also worked with her husband on their farm. In 1965 they opened Reichart’s Butcher Shop in Littlestown.
Ruth is survived by 2 sons: James W. Reichart & wife, Eileen and R. Edward Reichart & wife, Nancy, all of Littlestown; 8 grandchildren: Deborah Jeffcoat, Mary Mills, Susan Rhoades, James R. Reichart, John Reichart, Pamela Huffman, Karen Rodkey and Kimberly Reichart and 13 great grandchildren: Cody, Caitlin, Michael, Amanda, Chris, Melissa, Jennifer, Rebecca, Luke, Lauren, Alyssa, Jordan and Erica and 9 great great grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of Faith UCC, Littlestown. In younger years was a member of St. Luke’s bowling league. Ruth liked sewing, cooking and baking. She loved flowers, gardening and being with family and was faithful to her church.
Funeral Service is Mon., Oct 14, at 10:30 A.M. at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown with Pastor Scott Aument and Rev. Craig Arentz officiating. Viewing is Sunday 6 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment is in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be: James Reichart, John Reichart, David Rodkey, Jim Rhoades, Michael Mills, Chris Jeffcoat, Luke Reichart and Cody Huffman.
