Biography: Gerald W. Daley, 86, formerly of Littlestown died Sunday September 22 at Transitions Health Care Gettysburg. He was the husband of Betty L. (Miller) Daley of Littlestown for 64 years. Born August 22, 1927 in Littlestown, he was the son of the late John G and Mary Boose Daley. Gerald was a Littlestown High School Graduate and a graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Criminology of Philadelphia. He was a sergeant in the PA State Guard, 104th Calvary and the Army Air Corps, 11th Air Force. He served in the Aleutians on the Island of Adak during WWII. Surviving beside his wife is a daughter, Sandra L Miner and husband Michael of Hanover and a son Dwight A. Daley and wife Marie of Littlestown and a sister Faye Cochran of Littlestown. He was predeceased by a sister Charlotte Diveley.  Gerald was a former member of the Lyric Band of Hanover and the Littlestown Municipal Band. He was a life member and past Commander of the the Littlestown VFW Post 6954 and a member of the Littlestown American Legion Post 321. He was past Commander of the Adams County Allied Veterans Council. He was a superintendent of the Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher and a Elder and Deacon at Redeemers United Church of Christ in Littlestown. He was a former chief of Police of Taneytown and a part time Police Officer for the borough of Littlestown. Gerald was a former agent for the Washington National Insurance Company and retired from the Littlestown Hardware and Foundry in 1989. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 25 at 11 AM at Little’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Bowers and the Rev. George Heberling officiating. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown. Contributions have been asked to go to Redeemers U.C.C., 107 E. King St., Littlestown PA 17340. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Littlestow Allied Veteran Council. Online condolences may be shared at www.littlesfh.com.

Dear Betty and Family, We are saddened to learn of Gerald's death. We have a lot of memories of Gerald but especially remember him as a very big man in his police uniform. Wishing you all the best during this very sad time. Love, Nancy and sisters
